Chaudhry Nisar, Interior Minister has ordered to reduce the fees of smart ID cards. Smart ID card is a nationality card of Pakistan.
WHY SMART NATIONAL CARD?
SMART NATIONAL CARD is a nationality card of Pakistan,which contains QR code and a chip which helps to identify the person quickly. It is a most secure card in the world as it contains secure chips and layers.
OFFICIAL FEES STRUCTURE
- 1500 was the previous fees of the SMART card,but NADRA has reduced it to RS 400/- for regular time frame.
- 1600 was the previous fees of the SMART card,but NADRA has reduced it to Rs 800/- for the urgent issuance of the card.
The purpose of reducing the fees is to shift majority of citizens towards SMART card because SMART card contains 36 security features.
Many citizen from rural areas cannot afford SMART card fees so they go for a regular Nationality card, so for this purpose Government reduces the fees of SMART card.
